- Dr Kilic is a professor of Sufism at Marmara University, in Istanbul. In the past many manuscripts were produced in that field. Many rare, unknown, or misattributed manuscripts have been studied by himself or by his students under his supervision. His major expertise is on Sufi texts. He was the president of the Turkish and Islamic Art Museum in Istanbul till June 2008. In 2008 he was elected as a Secretary General of Parliamentary Union of OIC States for 4 years. Presently he lives in Tehran. He knows Arabic, Persian, Turkish.
