Arianna D'Ottone Arianna D’Ottone is an associate professor of Arabic language and literature at the Institute of Oriental Studies at Sapienza-University of Rome. She is also a junior research fellow at the Sapienza School for Advanced Studies. She is the author of several publications on palaeography, including 'Arabic Palaeography' a chapter in Comparative Oriental Manuscript Studies: An Introduction (COMSt, 2015). |

Sâqib Bâburî Dr Sâqib Bâburî is curator of Persian manuscripts at the British Library and a member of the Library's Persian Manuscripts Digitisation Project, which aims to make the collections available online. His research interests include the chronography, diplomacy, chancery practices, seals, calligraphy, and palaeographic traditions of the Persianate world, especially the history of art and culture at the court of Shah Jahan. |

Hakan Karateke Hakan Karateke is a professor of Ottoman and Turkish culture, language and literature at the University of Chicago. He is also co-editor of the Database of Ottoman Inscriptions, a searchable online database of all the Turkish, Arabic, and Persian architectural inscriptions created in the Ottoman lands during Ottoman times. He has published critical editions of a number of Ottoman texts. |

Annabel Teh Gallop Annabel Teh Gallop is lead curator for the Southeast Asia section at the British Library. Her main research interests are in Malay manuscripts, letters, documents and seals, and the art of the Qur’an in Southeast Asia. Her recent publications include 'Islamic manuscript art of Southeast Asia’, a chapter in Crescent Moon: Islamic Art and Civilisation from Southeast Asia (Adelaide, 2005). |
