The Melville J. Herskovits Library of African Studies at Northwestern University houses an important collection of Arabic script materials from West Africa. It contains over 5,000 items collected from Africa and donated to the lLibrary by several Northwestern professors.

- Caro Minasian Collection of Arabic and Persian Manuscripts at the University of California, Los Angeles Library
The Minasian Collection of Persian and Arabic manuscripts consists of works related to the studies of theologians and scholars in centers of learning in Iran from the 16th through the 19th centuries. The manuscripts, which include both bound collections and single works, chiefly date from the 14th to the 17th centuries, and shed light on the social, religious, and political history of Iran and Shi'ism.

The Digital Library of Malay Manuscripts contains images of Malay manuscripts from the collections of the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka and the University of Malaya. It also aims to include images of Malay manuscripts held in collections outside Malaysia. Additionally, the website makes available published editions of Malay manuscripts, as well as articles and reports on Malay manuscripts and Malay manuscript culture.

This site brings you a comprehensive collection of manuscripts of the Shahnama, the Persian epic 'Book of Kings', completed by the poet Firdausi in AD 1010, together with a display of the miniature paintings in each one. There are currently about 1500 manuscripts and single pages recorded, 18,000 records of paintings, and 12,000 images from all over the world, now accessible with a few clicks of a mouse.

- West African Arabic Manuscript Project (The Arabic Manuscript Management System)
AMMS is a bi-lingual database that was developed at the University of Illinois in the late 1980s to describe a collection of Arabic manuscripts in southern Mauritania (Boutilimit). It subsequently has been used to catalogue seven other West African collections including the manuscript libraries at the Institut Mauritanien de Recherche Scientifique, Northwestern University, and the Centre Ahmad Baba in Timbuctu.
